Last year, my father died of complications from Parkinson's disease, so the Parkinson Foundation's cause is close to my heart. For those who are interested, the Michigan Parkinson Foundation is hosting a Walk-A-Thon on June 7, 2008 (St. Clair Shores) and June 8, 2008 (Northville).
Parkinson's disease can strike people of all ages. Over 35,000 Michigan residents are afflicted. For 25 years, the Michigan Parkinson Foundation has provided education and support to patients, their families, and health care providers.
